HJV Engineers A
Solution for "Head
Line" Crop Spraying
with the Flic k
of a Switch...
Dan Mann, VP of
Service for HJV has
designed and
created, along with
our service staff in
Alliston, a lift kit
for the Rogator
series sprayers. The
system features a
permanently
installed hydraulic
lift kit allowing an
extra 20" for corn
crop clearance while
in tassle stage. The
process takes 120
seconds to lift and
90 seconds to drop.
This function allows
the machine to be
compliant for road
travel, thus making
it easy for farmers
to move around from
farm to farm. HJV
has begun marketing
our patent pending
creation, and have
been showing it off
at shows and farms
across Ontario this
fall.

This
customer needed to
make his Artex
Compost Spreader
able to spread 500
lbs per acre of
Chicken Manure on
blueberry fields in
PEI and NS with
precision.
HJV Team PEI
sourced a 3144 Achem
Terragator, and
provided
an Agtronix
scale with weighbars
as well as a Raven
Cruizer
with wiring
and control valves
to control the
volume being
applied
while providing the
operator guidance.
Through an
amazing
process of refabrication, and
installation,
another
customers'
problem was solved.

Getting The Most Out
Of Your Equipment
Shown here is a
basic self propelled
Spra Coupe 7450 that
HJV Alliston
customized to fit a
new "Kyndestoft"
add-on air bag
system. By
redesigning the oil
reservoir, and
installing a
hydraulic pump, the
customer has an
extended window of
opportunity by
allowing a
manipulation
of wind control to
maximize pesticide
application.

A local company that
sprays liquid sealer
on newly paved roads
came to us with a
unique request. They
had obtained a
stai nless steel milk
truck and needed
someone capable of
converting this into
a sprayer to add to
their fleet. The
service team at HJV
Alliston took on the
challenge of this "unusual" project. The completed system
included a Raven
rate controller, hydraulic folding and height
adjustable booms. The hydraulic product pump was set up to
pump the liquid sealer through a 7 section boom, with individual
shut off valves. This allowed each of the booms to close down,
offering a great range for changing road widths. Also installed
was a rear camera system and flashing amber warning lights.
More great work performed by the staff at HJV to help
out another happy customer.

A Michigan area
customer came to HJV
Equipment with a
vision of providing
variable rate
spreading of
fertilizer and lime
with a small orchard
spreader for their
orchard and
blueberry crops.
Expanding on the
concept of using the
tractor as both the
power source and the
hydraulics, we
created a complete self
contained unit that
could be transferred
from one tractor to
another, keeping and
"easy to operate"
concept in the
equation.
HJV began by
acquiring a Newton
Crouch Model 41
orchard/forestry
spreader, chosen due
to its 3 ton
capacity,
compactness,
durability and
flexibility. We then
used 2 deep cycle
marine batteries to
run all the
electronics on the
spreader including
the GPS antenna and
the radar.
The 2 batteries were
wired with a large
rotating switch
which allows the
customer to use one
or both
batteries, or turn
the entire system
off.
For the
hydraulics, Newton
Crouch provided the
Prince 540 PTO
pump
which made it
simple to take on
and off for
transferring to
different
tractors.
Finally, for
simplicity we
installed the Raven
E-Pro variable rate
controller and
provided a storage
box on the unit for
the E-Pro when
not being used.
Another great
project performed by our
professional service
team here at HJV
Equipment, Michigan.
